These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the SG Handyman Engineering Pte Ltd website at sghandymanengineering.com and any services you engage us to perform. By accessing this website, requesting a quote, or confirming a booking with us, you agree to these terms in full.
SG Handyman Engineering Pte Ltd is a company registered in Singapore. Our registered address is 1 North Bridge Road, #30-02, Singapore 179094. You can reach us at +65 8013 5520.
If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our website or engage our services.
2. Our Services
SG Handyman Engineering provides the following services across Singapore:
- Electrical services, including power trip repair, power socket installation, ceiling fan installation, lighting installation, electrical wiring, and emergency electrical work
- Plumbing services, including toilet choke clearing, water leak detection and repair, water heater installation, and pipe repair
- Painting services, including interior and exterior painting for HDB flats, condos, offices, and landed properties
- Renovation services, including HDB and BTO renovation, condo renovation, kitchen renovation, bathroom renovation, and commercial office renovation
- Carpentry, flooring, and general handyman services
All electrical work is performed or supervised by EMA-licensed electricians in accordance with Singapore Standard SS 638. All plumbing work is performed or supervised by PUB-licensed plumbers in compliance with Singapore’s Public Utilities Board regulations. All renovation work requiring permits is submitted and processed in compliance with HDB and BCA requirements.
We reserve the right to decline, reschedule, or discontinue any service at our discretion, including if site conditions are found to be unsafe or if the scope of work materially differs from what was described at the time of booking.
3. Quotations and Pricing
3.1 How Quotes Work
All prices displayed on our website are estimates and starting figures only. Final pricing depends on the specific scope of work, site conditions, material selection, accessibility, and time of service.
A firm, itemised quote will be provided on-site after our technician or consultant has inspected the property. No work begins until you have verbally or in writing confirmed the quoted price.
3.2 Fixed-Price Commitments
Once you confirm a quote and work begins, the price will not change unless you request additional work beyond the agreed scope. If our team discovers unforeseen conditions during the job — such as concealed pipe damage, deteriorated wiring behind walls, or structural issues — we will stop, explain the finding, and obtain your approval before proceeding. We will not continue with additional work or charge you for it without your explicit consent.
3.3 Emergency and After-Hours Surcharges
Emergency call-outs after midnight and on Singapore Public Holidays may carry a surcharge. This will be communicated to you before we dispatch a technician. You are not obligated to proceed if you do not agree to the surcharge.
3.4 Payment Terms
Payment is due upon completion of work unless a separate payment arrangement has been agreed in writing prior to the job. We accept cash, bank transfer, and PayNow. For larger renovation projects, a deposit may be required before work commences. Deposit terms will be stated in your written quote or contract.
We do not charge hidden fees. If any additional cost arises from a change you request during the job, we will inform you of the revised figure before proceeding.
4. Bookings and Cancellations
4.1 Making a Booking
Bookings can be made by phone, WhatsApp, or through the enquiry form on our website. A booking is confirmed when we provide you with a confirmed appointment time and you acknowledge it.
4.2 Cancellations by You
We understand that plans change. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give us as much notice as possible. Cancellations made less than 2 hours before a scheduled appointment may incur a call-out fee to cover the cost of the dispatched technician’s travel time.
For renovation projects where a deposit has been paid, cancellation terms will be as stated in your written renovation agreement.
4.3 Cancellations or Rescheduling by Us
In rare circumstances — such as a technician emergency, severe weather, or operational issues — we may need to reschedule your appointment. We will contact you as early as possible and offer an alternative time at no additional cost to you.
5. Workmanship Warranty
5.1 What Is Covered
SG Handyman Engineering provides a workmanship warranty on all completed jobs. Warranty periods are as follows:
- Electrical repairs and installations: 30 to 90 days depending on the nature of the work
- Plumbing repairs and installations: 30 to 90 days depending on the nature of the work
- Painting services: workmanship warranty covering application defects such as peeling, bubbling, or visible holidays caused by our process
- Renovation works: 12 months on workmanship from the date of handover
If a defect covered under our warranty arises within the warranty period, we will return to rectify the issue at no charge. Warranty rectification is subject to our scheduling availability and will be attended to within a reasonable timeframe.
5.2 What Is Not Covered
The workmanship warranty does not cover:
- Damage caused by misuse, physical impact, tampering, or modifications made by third parties after our work is completed
- Defects arising from conditions that existed before our work began and that were not disclosed at the time of booking
- Damage caused by water leaks, flooding, or structural issues originating from sources outside our scope of work
- Normal wear and tear
- Electrical or plumbing faults caused by appliances or fixtures supplied by the client that are found to be faulty
- Painting defects caused by condensation from air-conditioning units, ongoing water ingress, or excessive humidity from factors outside our control
- Any work where the client has subsequently altered the completed work
5.3 Manufacturer Warranties
Components and materials we supply — such as MCBs, RCCBs, water heaters, taps, and paint — may carry their own manufacturer warranties. These are separate from and in addition to our workmanship warranty. We will advise you of applicable manufacturer warranties where relevant.
6. Client Responsibilities
To enable us to perform the agreed work safely and effectively, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information about the property, the problem, and any known conditions that may affect the work
- Ensure access to the property at the agreed appointment time
- Disclose any known hazards, including asbestos, active leaks, or structural concerns
- For HDB and condo properties, ensure that any required management office access, lift booking, or MCST notification has been arranged where applicable — unless you have specifically asked us to handle this on your behalf
- Not interfere with work in progress in a way that creates a safety risk
- Inform us before the job if you have prior work done by another contractor that may affect our scope
We are not liable for delays or additional costs caused by inaccurate information provided at the time of booking or by restricted site access at the time of the appointment.
7. Liability
7.1 Our Liability to You
SG Handyman Engineering carries appropriate insurance coverage for our work. If our team causes direct damage to your property during the course of an engagement, we will take responsibility for that damage.
Our liability is limited to the direct cost of rectifying the damage or the value of the services performed, whichever is lower. We are not liable for consequential losses, including loss of income, business interruption, or indirect damage arising from a delay or defect in our work.
7.2 Unlicensed Work and Insurance
It is a legal requirement in Singapore that permanent electrical work be performed by an EMA-licensed electrician and that relevant plumbing work be performed by a PUB-licensed plumber. If you engage an unlicensed individual for such work and then ask us to assess or rectify it, we will only do so under a new, separately quoted scope. We will not accept liability for any pre-existing conditions caused by unlicensed work.
We strongly advise that you check with your home insurer before engaging any contractor. Most Singapore home insurance policies require that electrical and plumbing work be carried out by licensed professionals. We hold active licences and can confirm them on request.
7.3 Pre-Existing Conditions
We are not liable for damage or defects that pre-existed our work and that could not reasonably have been identified during our initial inspection. Where we identify a pre-existing issue during the job, we will inform you and document it.

If a dispute cannot be resolved directly, it may be referred to the Singapore Mediation Centre or the Small Claims Tribunal where applicable. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Singapore, and any legal proceedings shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date. Continued use of our website or services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

A few things worth noting about how this was written:
Every clause is specific to SG Handyman Engineering’s actual business — the EMA licence reference, PUB licence reference, HDB permit language, PDPA reference, and the specific warranty periods all reflect what the company actually offers as described across these service pages. This is not a generic template with company name swapped in.
The warranty section mirrors exactly what the service pages promise — 30 to 90 days for electrical and plumbing, 12 months for renovation — so the Terms are consistent with what clients are told before they book.
The liability section addresses the most realistic dispute scenarios for a Singapore trades business: pre-existing conditions found behind walls, unlicensed prior work by others, and the insurance policy voiding issue mentioned across all four service pages.
